Norge Elementary Marks Constitution Day With Reading of Preamble
Students and staff at Norge Elementary celebrated Constitution Day Sept. 16. The crowd heard an inspiring reading of the Preamble to the United States Constitution by Mistress Blair, portrayed by historical interpreter Margaret McMillan. Mistress Blair’s husband was a Virginia delegate and signer of the Constitution. Norge Student Council President Summer Daniels, Vice President Seth Isom, Secretary Madeline Hower, Treasurer Nash Spence, and Environmental Protection Officer Jacob Lezon highlighted words in the Preamble and shared what the Constitution means to them. Music Teacher Annette Turner led the students in singing The Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic songs. The event was organized by Student Council Sponsor Lori Harms and Social Studies Curriculum Leader Sandy Towers.
