Non-Profit Educators Organization Selects Jamestown HS Teacher To Make Trip To Egypt
Sharon McGeein, a Jamestown High School geography teacher, was selected to participate in a trip to Egypt sponsored by the non-profit Global Explorations for Educators Organization, which helps and encourages educators to travel abroad. It began with a stop at Giza and a camel ride at the pyramids, and included visits to the Egyptian Museum, Aswan, Elephantine Island, and Abu Simbel, the temple that the ancient pharaoh Ramses built to honor himself. The trip concluded with a sailing trip down the Nile on a felucca and visits to Kom Ombo and Edfu temples and the Valley of the Kings, where travelers rode donkeys to explore the pharaohs’ tombs.
