Four WJCC School Board Members Sworn In; Cordasco Assumes Roberts District Seat

Four WJCC School Board members took the oath of office Monday at the Williamsburg/James City County Courthouse to begin four-year terms, including newcomer Heather Cordasco, who assumes the Roberts District seat held for the last eight years by Denise Koch, who retired from the Board.

Cordasco was joined by Ruth Larson, who becomes the new Berkeley District representative as the result of recent redistricting; Stonehouse representative James P. Nickols, and City of Williamsburg representative Elise Emanuel.  All begin their new terms effective Jan. 1.

Cordasco, 48, has lived in James City County for 6½ years.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Nyack College. Her husband, Carlo, and she have three children:  Corinne, 2008 graduate of Jamestown High School and a senior at The King’s College; Andrew, a 2010 graduate of JHS and a sophomore at Liberty University; and Christopher, a freshman at JHS.  Ms. Cordasco works at the Sports Club at Kingsmill Resort, where she coordinates the fitness program and leads fitness classes.
